Introducing Lecturer Joan Jacobs

Who is Joan Jacobs? She is a trained art educator, lecturer and an experienced museum docent who pursued her love of art through years of advance studies in art history and Religion. Equipped with volumes of research, Ms. Jacobs has traveled extensively to museums throughout the United States and Europe. She is an avid art collector and photographer. Her life revolves around her passion for the Arts.


Throughout her childhood she accompanied her parents to all of the extraordinary museums of New York City. After graduating from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Education, she continued her studies in the history of art and has taken almost every class offered at the University of Miami. Realizing the influence of religion as a theme in many works of art, Joan took extensive classes to better understand the artists’ underlying meanings.

Her company, Art Talk, offers comprehensive presentations to audiences young and old. Ms. Jacobs has attracted quite a following with her engaging talks, which are designed to interest the art lover who wishes to learn more, and also the novice who is ready to discover the treasures of Western Civilization. It is her ability to tell fascinating stories from historical, religious and political perspectives that have made her lectures unique.

In addition to group lectures Ms. Jacobs gives customized presentations that include museum tours and even escorted travel tours. As an avid photographer she has lectured and traveled worldwide. She has taken countless images of masterpieces, and has built an extraordinary library. Ms. Jacobs is an accomplished public speaker with over 25 years experience. A people person, she is at ease in front of any size of audience. Her energetic and enthusiastic approach, combined with her outgoing personality, has made her a favorite lecturer among her numerous clients.

Technical Requirements

All lectures will be in Microsoft Powerpoint format. Ms. Jacobs requires an LCD projector, a lighted podium, microphone and a DARK room for the presentation, so that all images can be viewed properly.
